So how does our recruitment process work?

Here is a brief run-down of the process, followed by some FAQs to help you along:
1. Attend an Info Session to learn more about KPhi and meet some Chickadees
2. Attend a Meet & Greet to interact with active Chickadees in a relaxed environment
3. Submit Application
4. Wait to hear back regarding the next steps.

FAQs

Is there a written application?

Yes. The application can be found here soon and is due 9/6/22 by 11:59PM. Since submission is online, we will NOT accept any late applications.

Do I need a letter of recommendation?

No, we do not require a letter of recommendation. Through the recruitment process, there will be ample opportunity for us to get to know you – we don’t need someone else to vouch for you, you will vouch for yourself through your interactions with the Chickadees.

Do I need a headshot?

Yes! We ask for each applicant to submit a headshot purely for facial recognition. It helps us to put a face to an application to an actual person. This headshot should look like you! No fancy model shots are necessary – selfies are great!

Is there a GPA requirement?

All members of Chi Kappa Phi must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0. Therefore, we ask that all our applicants have a GPA of at least a 3.0 as well. If you are an incoming freshman and do not have a college GPA, that is okay. Just let us know what your high school GPA was and include the scale.

Do I need to submit a transcript?

No – we trust that you will report your GPA truthfully; don’t disappoint.

Is it advantageous to know current Chickadees?

Nope – we consider all applicants equally regardless of their prior relationships with active Chickadees.

Am I required to attend an Info Session and Meet & Greet?

Though not required, it is highly recommended that you attend both an Info Session and Meet & Greet. The Info Session will provide you with more of the nitty-gritty details, where the Meet & Greet will allow you to talk with active Chickadees so that you can get a feel of the KPhi vibe and whether or not these are people you want to spend the rest of your time at UT with. We want you to find a community within UT that makes you happy, that’s why we are providing the opportunity for you to meet as many Chickadees as you want before submitting your application.
